How To Help

There are many ways volunteers can help us reduce the poverty and educate the children---host a Fair Trade handcraft bazaar at your church or home, gather Spanish language childrens books, purchase artisan crafts, or make donations.

Please help us spread the word about this ministry to your family and friends and others that have an interest in ministry to children's education and alleviating poverty thru Fair Trade practices.

We need Prayer Partners who will pray each day for this ministry to be an effective tool in helping the schools and communities of the Lake Atitlan area in the rural Guatemalan highlands.

Host a Guatemalan Fair Trade Bazaar -- A great way to volunteer with Education And More right here in the U.S. is to host a Guatemalan bazaar at your church or in your home. Selling our Guatemalan handcrafts gives double benefits --- both in educating the children and also for the artisan and their family. First, it gives an income to our artisan groups helping them to lift themselves out of poverty and have dignity and pride in doing so. Secondly, all profits that Education And More makes is channeled back to Guatemala to educate children and help the artisan groups that produce the handcrafts.

Volunteers that host parties and sell handcrafts have fun by setting a Guatemalan theme, getting friends and church members to help coordinate the bazaar and also by showing pictures and PowerPoint slide shows to acquaint people with the mission of Education And More.

Laptop Computers -- If you or your company has laptops that are no longer used, please consider donating them to Education And More. We want to supply the schools and students with as many computers as possible so that children can benefit from technology. Most schools do not have internet access but the computer itself is a valuable tool for the students.

You will receive a receipt for your tax deductible donation of the computer.

School Supplies Needed-- Although most school supplies are purchased in Guatemala, Education And More does take school supplies to Guatemala on each trip. We could use the help of your school, church, group or organization to collect them. Following is a list of needed items:

• Solar Calculators ( solar powered are the best, approx $4-$6)
