Fundraising Opportunities

Fundraising opportunities are available for your group to raise dollars for your programs while at the same time helping artisans in Guatemala earn a fair wage to help them support their families and educate their children.

Choose from the following fundraisers:

Does your women's group have a heart for missions? Is your youth group wanting to raise funds for their programs? Or are you just interested in helping the artisans in Guatemala earn a fair and just living with their handcrafts?

Friendship Bracelets - The bracelets are handwoven by several of our artisan groups. Rosa's 21 year old daughter is one of the weaver's and she is unable to do backstrap weaving because of health problems. She loves to be able to help earn a living along with her widowed mother by making these bracelets to sell. Angelica also weaves friendship bracelets to help pay for her schooling. She is 20 years old and is finishing career schooling to be an accountant.

Some of the bracelets are of cotton yarns and some are of a nylon type of thread/yarn -- all are handwoven and earn the groups a fair wage for each hour spent weaving.

Beaded Bracelets - These are beautiful bracelets made entirely of little glass beads and handwoven on a little loom. Two of our artisan groups make these bracelets and you will receive an assortment of bright and muted colors and patterns. They are approximately 1" wide and 6 1/2" - 7" long with a loop and ball closure.

Hacky Sack Balls - These little balls, sometimes called 'foot bags' are so popular! They are hand-crocheted by one of our artisan groups and it gives the older ladies a way to contribute to the group because they are unable to do the more strenuous floor loom weaving.

The balls are crocheted of cotton yarn and have plastic pebbles for the filling. There are a variety of colors and designs and even soccer ball hacky sacks.

ID Badgeholders / Lanyard / Necklace Fundraiser - Beautiful badgeholders are a great fundraiser for women's groups because they can be used for convention badges or in the office and do double duty as a pretty necklace if you don't need a badgeholder. There are several colors in the assortment of glass beaded badgeholders but you can also choose to include the natural looking wood and clay badgeholders that are perfect for men! Included with the badgeholder is the ring, clip to attach the badge and an eco friendly, recyclable badge.

Neckscarf Fundraiser - Absolutely gorgeous all cotton neck scarves that have been hand woven on backstrap looms. All of our artisan groups weave these neck scarves and earn a fair wage for their labor! Soft cotton yarns have been woven into a variety of patterns, designs and styles and colors. You will receive an assortment of colors and styles.
