Steps to volunteering to host a Fair Trade Artisan sale:
1. Email Education And More for an application and order form.
2. Tell us about your group and how you are planning on selling the handcrafts.
3.. Fill out completely and give us information on the size of your sale including your
preferences of what type of handcrafts you would like to sell.
4. Return application and order form at least 4 weeks before sale.
5. Decide on date of your sale and begin advertising to the community, to friends, to your
church about the Fair Trade handcraft sale.
6. Learn more about Fair Trade thru our blog or on this website and explain to attendees
how the artisans earn more money and benefits because of Fair Trade.
7. After the sale return unsold handcrafts and a send a check for product sold, within two
weeks on your last sale date.
Whatever you did for one of the least of
these brothers of mine, you did for me.
Matthew 25:40
Your church or organization can help educate about Fair Trade and the benefits
that it gives to artisans. Be sure to read our webpage on Fair Trade.
A Fair Trade home party is similar to a Tupperare party. We will supply
brochures and a Powerpoint Cd so that your guests can learn about the artisans
and children their purchases will help. They can see photos of the ladies and learn
how Fair Trade benefits them. We will send you a select group of handcrafts for
you to sell based on your preferences on the order form.
If your Spanish club or Fair Trade Student Groupat school would like to help
by hosting a sale you could ask for permission to set up in the commons or lunch
area for several days in a row to tell about Guatemala and Fair Trade. Your Fair
Trade Student group could also host a larger marketplace on a weekend and
publicize it to the community.
If your Church Organization is interested in helping our artisans, host a sale
before and after services or pick a weekend and host a large bazaar of Fair Trade
handcrafts.
By hosting a Fair Trade home party or a Fair Trade bazaar at your church, school
or university you are giving artisans an opportunity to earn more income.
Education And More is glad to partner
with your non-profit, church, school or
community group to help you raise
dollars for your programs. Scout troops,
ball teams, youth or adult organizations
enjoy this alternative fundraising option.
You not only raise money for your
program but also help impoverished
artisans earn a living.
~~~You can help Education And More by hosting a Fair Trade bazaar / home party and the
proceeds are returned to E&M to help purchase more handcrafts from the artisans. You may keep
10% to help cover your costs in hosting the sale.
~~~If you would like to raise funds for your programs please see our Fundraising Program page for
more information.
Remember.............
Education And More has two types of sales.
