Education And More schedules several trips to Guatemala each year -- backstrap weaving tours, mission trips for service projects, and mission trips for presenting Vacation Bible School. If you have a group that would like to set up a dedicated trip to present VBS, do service projects or learn backstrap weaving please contact us about setting up a special trip just for your group.

General Information For All Trips

Trip fees include meals, ground transportation, hotel accommodations, pure water, and planned sightseeing within the country.
Participants are responsible for arranging and paying for their airfare to Guatemala City.
On these tours you will have many opportunities to interact with the wonderful people of Guatemala and see our work with our artisans and their families.

Other opportunities include:

  • Visit villages and homes of Mayan artisans
  • Learn about their daily lives
  • Make tortillas by hand
  • Hear and maybe learn a little of the Mayan languages of T'zutujil and Kakchiquel
  • See beautiful Lake Atitlan
  • Sightseeing in Antigua and the western highlands

                                                                              Vacation Bible School Mission Trip Information

    We will be sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ in presenting VBS to the children and adults; meeting and getting to know the artisans and the families that Education And More serves; sightseeing around Lake Atitlan and in Antigua and much more.
    Each mission team will present VBS in one of the artisans groups over the course of 3 days, but will have time for sightseeing and meeting our partner artisans in other villages. Minimum trip duration is 5 days, including air travel.

     

     

    Weaving Tour Information

    Join a weaving tour to Guatemala to meet the women artisans that make beautiful crafts and weavings. Learn the basics of backstrap weaving - you get to take home the loom! Spend time connecting with the women artisans and learn about their daily lives in the beautiful highlands of Guatemala. If you have a group, contact us about setting up dates.
