Sewing Center Program
Education And More initated this program to be able to help women learn a valuable skill so they would be able to earn money to help support their families. E&M believes learning new sewing skills is very important for the artisans.

Grupo Artesanias T'zaput, Asociacion Red de Mujeres Juaneras and MIRETO Ladies were so delighted to receive new sewing machines, sewing supplies, sewing books and of course lessons in sewing.

The sewing teachers that were hired speak Spanish but also the Mayan language of the group they will teach, which is an important factor, so the women to be able to learn. The lessons will continue for months so that the women will be accomplished seamstresses when finished.

Our sewing center program will continue for several years so that we can continue to help the women master this important skill.

Education And More feels that these sewing centers will give vital income earning skills for these women and in years to come for their children that also want to learn.
