BOARD CHAIR (Adriane Ohlde)
became involved with Education and More after learning about the role they play in helping women's groups market their products thereby improving the quality of life for their families and communities. She helps provide insight into product trends and ways to expand the customer base.
I became involved with Education and More after several global building trips to Guatemala and Ecuador. These experiences, though deeply gratifying and educational, left me with the desire to become involved with an organization that would allow me to build long-term relationships with the families that we worked with. Education and More provided that opportunity for me. My background in weaving and home construction allows me to provide insight into both the home improvement missions, and aids in communicating with the artisans about the products that they are weaving.
I became involved with Education and More after being contacted by our founder, whom I knew through Habitat for Humanity. I had been on several mission trips throughout the US, and in South Africa. During a trip to Guatemala with Habitat for Humanity, I saw the great need there. Being a teacher, I was especially drawn to the mission of helping poverty stricken children to attend school. Working with our artisans and their children continues to be source of great challenges but also of great joy.
