This crossbody bag features a leather bottom and adjustable strap. It is woven in a beautiful deep blue with white Ikat design using 100% cotton. It is fully lined and also features a zippered pocket on the back side and a button closure. It measures approx.10"-11" wide and 12" tall when closed.
Since it is hand-dyed the designs of the ikat will vary slightly.
The fabric in this bag is hand-dyed by an artisan in Guatemala. The technique is called Ikat and is similar to tie-dye! It is very time consuming and the yarn is then woven on a foot pedal loom. The fabric is then taken to another artisan who sews the bag. All artisans receive a fair wage for their labor and are able to provide for their families and send their children to school. Since Education and More is a non-profit; the proceeds from the sales of their handcrafts are used to provide other benefits to them.
