Handmade Guatemalan Huipil Padded Computer Bag
Handmade Guatemalan Huipil Padded Computer Bag
Our tailor, Gaspar, has updated our messenger bag. It now has padding for computer protection, is larger, and has a beautiful, repurposed Guatemalan huipil for the front. These huipils ( women's blouses) are handwoven on backstrap looms and each one is a work of art. The symbol and motifs in the embroidery are unique to each village. The leather flap that covers the top has a snap for closure. The bag is padded and lined in black cotton.
The fabric on the back is from a typical corte or skirt. It also features a 7" zippered pocket that is surrounded by leather. The pocket is lined and big enough for a phone, small notebook, pencils. etc.
The bag will hold a 14 1/2" wide computer and the leather strap is adjustable. It can be used as a crossbody,, over the shoulder or as a clutch.
These bags are each unique and we only have 1 of each designs.
