Our tailor, Gaspar, has updated our messenger bag. It now has padding for computer protection, is larger, and has a beautiful, repurposed Guatemalan huipil for the front. These huipils ( women's blouses) are handwoven on backstrap looms and each one is a work of art. The symbol and motifs in the embroidery are unique to each village. The leather flap that covers the top has a snap for closure. The bag padded and lined in black cotton.
The fabric on the back is from a typical corte or skirt. It also features a 7" zippered pocket that is surrounded by leather. The pocket is lined and big enough for a phone, small notebook, pencils. etc.
The bag will hold a 14 1/2" wide computer and the leather strap is adjustable. It can be used as a crossbody,, over the shoulder or as a clutch.
These bags are each unique and we only have 2 of each designs.
